Keighley Cougars' back rower Will Cartledge is the winner of the latest Northern Rail Cup Player of the Round' award following his Man of the Match performance in his team's 22-18 away victory at Workington Town last Sunday.
The match was the Cougars first competitive win of the season with Cartledge playing a starring role in both attack and defence.
The former Hunslet and Batley player carried the ball superbly throughout the game and put in several huge hits which saw the opposition surrender possession.
Commenting on the award, Cougars head coach Barry Eaton said: "I played alongside Will at Batley and so I was well aware of his capabilities when he signed for us.
"He is always consistent and strong and he really stood out on Sunday. His defence and go forward' were tremendous."
Eaton added: "Will's not the biggest guy but he goes about his business on the field with real determination. He makes very few mistakes and he led by example against Workington.
"On Sunday he certainly put in some big tackles. That was great as we had been focusing on our defence all week. I am really delighted for him."
The award is provided by the competition's main partner Northern Rail who will continue to recognise the weekend's outstanding player throughout the season.
Will Cartledge wins a specially engraved Northern Rail Cup Player of the Round' Trophy and will be presented with it at Keighley Cougars' home fixture against Whitehaven on March 2.
The Cougars have their third away game in four matches when they travel to Halifax on Tuesday. Kick off at The Shay is at 7.30pm.
