A SQUAD of City’s senior and age group swimmers who all train with Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme travelled to Ponds Forge in Sheffield to compete in the North East Region Age Group/ Open and Age Group Championships.
Fourteen-year-old Robbie Ambler from Keighley had two top ten finishes in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and his time of 32.34 in the shorter event was a new club record.
Podium places were hard to come by for City’s swimmers and it was 12-year-old Amy Hagyard who claimed the highest placing with silver in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1.21.03.
She also had top 10 finishes in the 50m and 200m events.
Sophia Gledhill has a bronze medal finish in the 16 years and under 200m butterfly in a new national winter qualifying time of 2.21.19.
Her time of 1.04.94 in the shorter 100m event was an improved qualifying time and she also finished seventh in the 200m backstroke.
Sisters Alex and Rebecca Dunn were also in fine form in their respective age groups. Older sister Rebecca had three top 10 finishes in the 17 years and over 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Swimming in the 16 years and under age group Alex had two top ten finishes in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. Her time of 27.28 in the freestyle event was a national qualifying time.
A further top 10 finish, national qualifying time and club records fell to Gina Warrior in the 16 years and under 50m backstroke and she also had a top 10 finish in the 100m event.
Top 10 finishes also went to Freddy Dean (4), Keighley's Ciara O’Carroll (2), Harry Schmidt (2), Will Skiggs (1) and another Keighley prospect Quinn-Austin Kelly (1).
