THERE was national heartbreak over the weekend for one of Keighley's biggest stars.
England rugby union star Ellie Kildunne, who is from the town and began playing the sport at Keighley RUFC as a youngster, was in action at the Women's Rugby Union World Cup in New Zealand.
The final took place on Saturday, as England went up against the hosts.
And Kildunne scored an early try to put England ahead in only the third minute, but a high tackle saw her team-mate Lydia Thompson dismissed midway through the first half.
An Amy Cokayne hat-trick looked like it might be enough for England, but New Zealand eventually edged an incredible final 34-31, winning the competition for a sixth time in the process.
