SATURDAY'S big freeze got the better of all of our non-league teams in the Bradford District, except Silsden, who won 2-0 at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
The Cobbydalers and their hosts contested the only game of the day in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, and it was the former who came out on top.
The Pontefract-based side started brightly and Silsden keeper Sam Kelly's brilliant stop early on was backed up by a clearance off the line from Alex Laird.
Cobbydalers striker Lamin Janneh Gitteh then had an effort of his own cleared off the line after rounding the goalkeeper, before Laird headed inches wide from a free-kick.
Kelly then made a good save with his feet to keep Silsden level, before the home side had a shot well blocked and a volley that flew just off target.
Despite that spell of pressure from Welfare, it was the visitors who took the lead just before the break when defender Sam Bradley tapped the ball home from a corner.
Joe Crosby almost doubled Silsden's advantage following a goalmouth scramble, before the excellent Kelly was on hand to keep Hemsworth out after a fine strike from the edge of the box.
Ant Brown sealed the points for the Cobbydalers with 12 minutes to go, volleying the ball home after a good cross from the left wing.
Laird's superb block preserved the two-goal advantage for his side, before Hemsworth missed the chance to grab a late consolation after somehow shooting wide of an open goal after Kelly was beaten to the ball.
Silsden remain in fifth, but are now just one point off second, and the coveted promotion play-off spot, which they could move up into with a home win over struggling Frickley Athletic this Saturday.
Steeton were not due to play anyway, as their prospective opponents were in Macron Cup action.
Their next game is also due to be on Saturday, as they visit fellow mid-table side AFC Blackpool.
