CHRIS Melling might be in form, but his opponent Jack Whelan did not know when he was beaten last night.
The pair faced off in the Ultimate Pool Pro Cup quarter-finals, a tournament which had already seen Keighley's Arfan Dad and Bradford's Karl Boyes bow out in the group stages.
Dad's fellow Keighley native Melling came through his group by beating David McNamara and Dan Eaton-Lees, setting up a last-eight clash against Whelan.
And when Melling won the first set 6-4 yesterday afternoon, he looked well-placed to reach the semis.
But Whelan took the second set 7-5, setting up a six-red shootout decider.
Melling went first, and potted his balls in 26.45 seconds, but Whelan kept his cool with a quicker reply of 24.18 seconds to set up a semi-final against Jordan Shepherd.
Whelan defeated Shepherd in the last-four then took down Shaun Storry in the final to claim the title.
