FORMER Cononley resident Ian Taylor has again come up short in his latest attempt to defeat Nick Craig (SCOTT Racing).
The Shibden Cycling Club member, who now lives in Austwick, near Settle, finished second behind the virtually unbeatable Craig in the last round of the National Trophy Series at Gravesend on Saturday.
Craig won the men’s 50 veterans’ race in 40min 54.8sec, to add to his four previous Trophy triumphs this season.
Taylor was second, 38 seconds behind, with Pete Middleton (www.Zepnat.com RT) third almost a minute further back.
Taylor’s next opportunity comes in the National Championships this weekend at Milnthorpe in Cumbria.
