THE spoils were shared in a Bradford derby between Eccleshill United and Silsden at The Mitton Group Stadium on Saturday as the visitors let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2.
Cobbydalers top scorer Luke Brooksbank netted a double before the half-hour mark was cancelled out by Eccy goals either side of the break.
Despite the hosts dominating the second half, they were unable to find a winning goal giving 12th-placed Silsden their second draw in as many games.
In the early exchanges of this Northern Counties East League Premier Division encounter, the visitors looked the most likely to open the scoring.
Jacob Smith saw a thunderous effort blocked before Ellis Hudson sent his shot wide on the follow up.
That pressure soon paid off, as Brooksbank grabbed the opener on 19 minutes.
Captain Kyle Hancock lifted a delightful ball over the top, leaving the young winger to smash it home.
Hudson should have doubled the visitors' lead when he rounded the Eccleshill keeper, but with the goal at his mercy, he somehow failed to hit the target.
His blushes were spared by Brooksbank, who added his second of the afternoon two minutes later
He produced a poacher's finish just inside the six-yard box, prodding home following a mad scramble.
Eccleshill halved the deficit from a free-kick on 36 minutes.
Hagie Damba made the initial save before Devonte Morton finished on the rebound.
After half-time, the hosts took control of the game, levelling through Luke Sidaway’s smart, low finish just two minutes after the restart.
Eccy took the game to Silsden thereafter.
Damba made a fine save on 60 minutes, with Arley Barnes behind him to clear away the danger.
Morton had a number of opportunities to win the game for the hosts, first sending a header wide before blowing a gilt-edged chance in the final moments, smashing over the crossbar from just a few yards out.
That miss ensured the game finished 2-2, Silsden drawing in the league for only the third time this season.
However having put an end to their long losing run in their previous a game, a battling 0-0 draw with Winterton Rangers, the Cobbydalers will just be glad to be getting points back on the board.
They take on sixth-placed Hallam tonight at The Office Interiors Stadium with the usual kickoff time of 7:45pm.
