PEOPLE are being invited to try their hand at sailing.
Denholme Sailing Club is holding an open day at its Doe Park base on Sunday, May 14.
The event, being staged as part of a Royal Yachting Association Discover Sailing initiative, will give visitors the chance to take to the water with an experienced sailor in one of the club’s family dinghies.
"We’re inviting people to come down and have a go and see what Denholme Sailing Club has to offer," says club spokesperson Tony Lever.
"Whether you are completely new to the sport or looking to get back on the water, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
"Who knows, you might just get hooked!
"Sailing is a great way to be active and have fun. You can sail with others or on your own, do it competitively or just potter about and enjoy the gentle escape of being outside in the elements."
The taster sessions are also designed to tie in with the district-wide Living Well 20-minute Movement.
