RIDDLESDEN are on track for successive titles in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.
Champions of Division Two last season, they only trail Division One leaders Cowling by nine points with a game in hand.
They won the toss in their top-of-the-table clash against Cowling at Keighley Road and made 179, with Ehsan Khan (48) and Saquib Hussain (32) in the runs as Laiq Ur Rehman took 5-35.
Cowling could only respond with 123, however, with keeper Rahman Ali (39) and Daud Khan (23) doing best with the bat as Mohammad Arshad (5-28) and Arfan Mahmood (3-31) got among the wickets.
Haworth, level on 72 points with Riddlesden but also having played a game more, had a 138-run victory against Eldwick & Gilstead at Grange Road.
Surprisingly put in, they racked up 279-7, with Jamie Rowell enjoying himself by scoring 145 off 119 deliveries, which included 22 fours and four sixes.
Neil Rollins (49no) also contributed, and Rollins then took 6-42 and Damian Rowell 3-28 as the twin villages were dismissed for 141.
Similarly, Denholme were no match for visitors Haworth Road Meths, who made 274-6 after winning the toss, Ryan Clark taking 3-91.
Guy Flanagan’s 69 not out off 67 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes, was the highlight after tea, but the only support he got came from Matthew Shaw-Burns (38), Adam Vaux (25) and Paul Armitage (27) and the innings ended on 192-7.
Flanagan added 54 for the sixth wicket with Vaux, and 58 for the seventh with Armitage.
Sutton have dropped to the bottom after losing by four wickets to fourth-placed Hepworth & Idle, the Bradford side also very much in the title picture.
Sam Solley (46) and Jack Whitaker (36) scored the bulk of Sutton’s 135 after they won the toss, and Dave Snowden took 2-20 in the reply.
Airedale lead the way in Division Two after a 10-run victory over misfiring Thornton-in-Craven at the Airedale Oval.
Raja Mohammad Adnan was the star for the home side, firstly scoring 71 of their 189-7, an innings which lasted 81 balls and contained eight fours and three sixes.
Waris Ismail (44) helped him add 77 for the third wicket, while skipper Saqib Javaid (17) put on 49 with Adnan for the fourth.
Adnan then took 3-22, Adam Brookfield 3-34 and Javaid 2-23 as Thornton were back in the pavilion for 179.
Another key clash was at Silsden, where Glusburn were the visitors.
The Cobbydalers won the toss but will have been disappointed to only score 163, with Jack Roberts (32), keeper Tom Greenwood (36) and Max Worsencroft (33) all being dismissed in the thirties.
Qasim Dar (2-22), Steve Brown (2-34), Brett Parkin (2-37) and the reliable Irfan Khaliq (4-57) claimed the wickets, and with Matt Lloyd (60no) anchoring the reply, Glusburn won by six wickets in the 32nd over.
Also contributing were Dipesh Mistry (48), Brown (20) and Khaliq (23no) as third-placed Glusburn moved within seven points of second-placed Silsden with a game in hand.
Long Lee lost a run-filled encounter at home to improving Hepworth & Idle II, with both sides topping 300.
Paul Stowell’s 106 not out was the highlight of Long Lee’s 301-8, with his brother Matty scoring 64, Craig Pullen 34, Shahbaz Ahmed 22, Jonathan Green 20 and James Fulwood 27 not out, with the Stowells putting on 67 for the fourth wicket.
However, that total was not enough as the Westfield Laners’ second strings replied with 303-7, winning with one ball of the 42nd over remaining, despite Ahmed taking 5-47.
Skipton CI won the toss at home to Ingrow and made 194-7, Aaron Pearce being the pick of the visiting bowlers with 3-18.
Ingrow skipper Ben Weatherall (90) and Mo Chowdhory (62) then put on 127 for the first wicket to speed them towards a much-needed five-wicket win at the end of the 34th over.
Wetherall’s runs came off 81 balls, while Chowdhory faced 66 deliveries, the pair hitting 12 fours apiece.
Bradley defeated fellow strugglers Bradford & Bingley III by 48 runs at Matthew Lane, scoring 215-7 after winning the toss.
Juni Ashraf provided the impetus with 63 off 80 balls, including four fours and three sixes, but Iklaq Ahmed (49) and Matt Buckmaster (21) also weighed in before Bingley were dismissed for 167, Vince Grant taking 3-14 on a day when the wickets were shared.
Cononley continue to be the pacesetters in Division Three alongside newcomers Bowling Baptist.
Skipton CI II could not cope with Cononley’s four-pronged attack of Scott Brook (3-4), Harry Parker (3-12), Matthew Calvert (2-17) and Colin Stead (2-42) and were back in the pavilion for 95.
Keeper Nathan Parker then showed how to bat, scoring an unbeaten 52 as Cononley won by seven wickets in the 15th over.
Cowling II, who are fifth, won an unusually low-scoring match at Keighley III on Sunday.
Batting first, the visitors could only score 109, with Haseeb Majid (22) and Sajid Shafait (27) being the only batters to top 20.
However, that proved more than enough as the home side were skittled for 59, with just one man in double figures, as Majid took 7-15.
Silsden II continue to lead the way in Division Four after a seven-wicket triumph at Menston Crompark II, who were restricted to 116-9 after winning the toss, with Archie Cox taking 4-24 and Alex Nelson 2-19.
Bilal Mahmood (38) and Hugh Sugden (15) then added 56 for the second wicket after tea, keeper James Nelson (30no) being there at the end, which came in the 29th over.
Sutton II are Silsden’s main challengers, lying 10 points behind in second after a nicely-timed five-wicket triumph at home to Airedale II.
Theo Reay (3-13), the sixth bowler used by Sutton, was their most successful in Airedale’s 178, with Paul Feather (59) and skipper Chris Haley (23) adding 91 for the fifth wicket.
That total was passed in the 38th over after 59 from Jack Middleton, 43 by Ali Hussain, 24 from Stuart Tillotson and 21 by Greg Riddiough.
Tillotson and Jack Middleton put on 67 for Sutton’s first wicket, while Hussain helped Middleton put on 47 for the second.
Glusburn II had an even easier victory over visitors Long Lee II, winning by 100 runs after making 198-8.
Javed Akram (58) and Iain Beattie (22) figured in an opening stand of 57 for Glusburn, and skipper Mark Pickles put on 69 for the second wicket with Akram, Mohammed Imran (21no) weighing in down the order.
Pickles then completed a fine match by taking 5-20, with Umar Dar bagging 3-15 as Long Lee were castled for 98, despite 29 from Ben Pennington.
Denholme II had a fine victory at Scotchman Road over Bowling Baptist, who made only 118 after winning the toss, Michael Robinson taking 5-21.
Visiting skipper Hussnain Ali anchored the reply with 46, Pat Clark (20) and Josh Wheatley (27) chipping in in a six-wicket triumph.
Meanwhile, Bradley II were on easy street, triumphing by six wickets at Ingrow after dismissing the hosts for 109.
Adam Millward made 21, with Matthew Speak taking 4-15.
Abdul Rehman then scored an unbeaten 44 to see his side home, helped by 20 from Awais Aseem.
