KEIGHLEY Cougars have today announced the departure of two players.
Firstly, the Betfred Championship agreed the mutual termination of Aaron Levy’s playing contract.
Director of Rugby, Jake Webster said: “I must thank Az for the part he played in that invincible 2022 season. He is a big part in why we are here today, and he leaves Cougars with his head held high.
“On a personal level, I really enjoyed playing with Az last year and he has been a great servant to Keighley and that’s a quality thats extremely rare to find in Rugby League.”
Cougars also went onto announce that Jake Sweeting has signed a loan agreement with Midlands Hurricanes.
Sweeting has been unlucky not to get game time at the Cougars in recent weeks and Director of Rugby Jake Webster said: “I feel it’s important that key players get game time and this opportunity for Jake has come up and I feel it’s important he stays sharp in a game situation. I will continue to monitor Jake’s progress closely.”
Cougars went onto comment: “We would like to wish Sweets all the best in his time at Midlands and look forward to seeing him return to Cougars to fight for a spot.”
Luca Atkinson is also on the move temporarily, and the youngster, lacking game time, will get a run out for Huddersfield's reserves this weekend.
