KEIGHLEY Cougars could go back to the summit of Betfred League 1 this weekend, as they make the long trip down to Cornwall for a 1pm kick off tomorrow.

And their chances may be boosted by Ben Blackmore, with the former Bradford Bulls winger set to make his debut for the club.

Blackmore's work commitments meant he could not commit to the hours Bulls needed him to put in, so he left Odsal on amicable terms last month.

But Keighley have offered the 31-year-old a deal until the end of the season which allows him to balance his sporting career alongside his day job.

He is the second player to leave Bradford for Keighley over the last few weeks, with George Flanagan on loan at Cougars until the end of the season.

The veteran hooker also makes the 21-man squad for the trip to Cornwall, but another former Bulls man, Brandon Pickersgill, does not, nor does vice-captain Aaron Brown.

Full-back Pickersgill broke his finger last month, and is not yet ready to return to the Keighley side.

Brown's absence should be a short one on this occasion, with him ruled out of tomorrow's match by illness.

Both Oldham and Keighley lead the way in League 1, with 18 points from a possible 20.

Oldham are top on points difference, but that could change this weekend if Cougars win and the Roughyeds lose at Workington.
