in the ENCO Halifax League Premier Division, title-chasing Oxenhope slipped up with a five-wicket home defeat to Triangle.
Joel Fothergill (47) was Oxenhope’s major contributor as the home team were bowled out for 180 and the visitors subsequently coasted to victory inside 34 overs.
Second Division Oakworth racked up the highest score in the league on Saturday, racking up a mammoth total of 331-5 at Bradley & Colnebridge.
Leading the charge was Bradley Powell with a magnificent 150, which he then backed up with 4-47 as B&C could only manage 169-9 in reply, at least denying their third-placed visitors maximum points.
Finally, Cullingworth are up to eigth after an excellent home win against high-flying Southowram.
Scott Pearson scored an impressive 93 as the hosts posted 254, with the visitors bowled out for 196 in reply, Phil Poole Jr (5-44) and Elliot Robinson (4-44) starring with the ball.
But the next day, Cullingworth unluckily bowed out of the Parish Cup, losing by one wicket in their quarter-final against Mytholmroyd.
Batting first, Cullingworth posted 166, largely thanks to a splendid effort by skipper James Bloodworth, who scored 86 runs in as many minutes.
Royd’s reply was interrupted by rain, with the tie poised at 89-6 and they scrambled over the line after returning, scoring 168-9 to put themselves into the semi-final draw.
It was particularly hard luck for Robinson, who almost dragged Cullingworth to a brilliant victory with figures of 5-19.
