STEETON kicked off their pre-season campaign on Tuesday night at Marley.
It was a tough ask for them, hosting a strong Glossop North End side on their artificial surface.
In the end, Glossop ran out deserving 3-0 winners, but it was a good run out for the Chevrons, who had not played since their North West Counties Football League First Division North season ended in April.
Neighbours Silsden had been hoping to face Maltby Main this Saturday in their first pre-season game, but that is now off, so unless they can find a new opponent at short notice, their opening friendly will be at Barnoldswick Town next Monday.
