STEETON and Silsden have learnt who they will play in upcoming cup fixtures as both clubs continue their preparations for the new season.
After receiving a bye in the first qualifying round of the Isuzu FA Vase, Roy Mason’s men will travel to Barnoldswick Town on Saturday, September 21.
It comes after the Marley Stadium outfit sustained a 3-0 defeat to district rivals Eccleshill United this past Saturday in their second pre-season outing.
The club did announce the signing of “exciting box-to-box midfielder” Harry Parsons from Thackley AFC before the game though.
A day later, club legend Andy Briggs was back at the Steeton clubhouse collecting a special accolade.
The prolific striker was awarded the 2022-23 North West Counties golden boot for netting 34 goals.
It had taken12 months for the gong to arrive, leaving chairman Stewart Airdrie on hand to pass Briggs it on his return.
Before moving to Bury last season, the marksman made 213 appearances, scoring 146 goals across his nine years at the club.
Meanwhile, Silsden were drawn away to Liversedge in the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup.
That tie will take place at 3pm on Saturday, August 3.
The Cobbydalers got their pre-season off to a flier over the weekend with two victories.
On Saturday, they took down Mill Lane, who stepped in at last notice, 3-1 in a home friendly.
24 hours later, it was an 2-1 away win at Barnoldswick Town which made it the perfect weekend for the Northern Counties East League Premier Division side.
Silsden play Nostell Miners, Farsley Celtic, Padiham and Campion before the start of their league season.
