Silsden were brought back down to earth with a bump on Tuesday night, with a 3-1 defeat in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division at Tadcaster Albion.
They beat promotion hopefuls Campion 3-0 in their NCEL opener at the end of July, with their surprise 2-0 FA Cup extra preliminary round victory at Liversedge on Saturday sending confidence soaring sky-high.
And they were by far the better team in the opening quarter at Tadcaster on Tuesday, but could not convert any of their numerous chances.
Instead, Luca Bolino opened the scoring for the hosts from a counter-attack.
Then, three minutes before half-time, Silsden’s Jake Cassidy was sent off for bringing his man down in the box, Elliott Andrew converting the spot-kick against the visiting 10-men.
Cobbydalers keeper Callum Bradbury made a stunning double save straight after the break, but was soon beaten by Andrew again.
Kayle Price grabbed a late consolation, which at least gives Silsden something to cling on to ahead of their league derby at home to Thackley tomorrow.
