Ben Blackmore has been charged with a Grade D punching offence following his red card in the win over Hunslet in Betfred League 1 last Sunday.
He is due to serve his two-game suspension after tomorrow’s game against Rochdale, but the club do have until next Tuesday to consider an appeal.
If Blackmore’s ban does stand, he will miss two crucial play-off matches for Keighley, assuming they win the first of those, in their fight for an instant return to the Championship.
Cougars will have to win four play-off games if they are to reach the second tier.
Cougars also had two more players punished by the Match Review Panel after the win over Hunslet, though neither have been banned.
Oscar Thomas has been fined £40 for Grade B Dangerous Contact and Aaron Brown the same amount for a Grade B trip.
