Harden have been relegated from Division One of the Aire-Wharfe League with a game to spare, after losing by 82 runs at Colton Institute on Saturday.

Calverley ensured that they survived instead with a fourth successive win, beating Bolton Villas by six wickets.

Colton, who are joining the Yorkshire Premier League North set-up next season, made 274-6 after winning the toss, with only Matthew Hogg (2-39) keeping them in check.

Harden started well, with captain Andy Wear (55) and Tom Stordy (34) putting on 72 for the first wicket, but they fell away thereafter, and were dismissed for 192.

It means they have been immediately relegated back to Division Two, with Bardsey going down with them.

Conversely, in-form Steeton have made it a remarkable 10 straight wins in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division.

They again showed their prowess, this time by thrashing second-placed Collingham & Linton by 172 runs at Summerhill Lane.

Sent in, Steeton made 238-6, openers Tremaine Dowrich (51) and Luke Chapman (48) setting them on the right path with a stand of 101 inside 20 overs.

Craig Walton (30) and James Robinson (28) then pushed them towards 200, before skipper Steve Pearson made 36 not out to ensure his side made a strong finish.

Collingham had an opening stand of 31 but it went rapidly downhill after that as they were dismissed for just 66, with James McDonald taking 4-42 and Dowrich producing extraordinary figures of 4-1 from his four overs.

Steeton’s last league defeat was on July 13, and that was only by two runs at home to Burley.

Without their 20-point deduction for disciplinary infringements, they would be sitting second behind Otley instead of being ninth.

Thanks to Steeton’s remarkable recovery from mid-July, Rawdon have ended up being relegated instead, alongside hapless Bilton, who have only won once all season.
