KEIGHLEY boxer Ibrahim Nadim continued his comeback in style on Saturday in Bolton.

He outshone opponent Erick Omar Lopez at the De Vere Whites Hotel, romping to a points victory over the Mexican and making it 12 wins from his 13 professional fights to date.

Referee Jamie Kirkpatrick scored the super-featherweight bout 60-55 in Nadim’s favour, making it three points wins in a row for the Steeton-born fighter since he returned this summer from a 16-month hiatus.

Lopez (16-16-2) has a strong record in his native Mexico, but has struggled since coming over to the UK, with this bout marking his fifth successive defeat since coming over from North America.

He goes again this weekend against Adam Carberry (8-0-1) in Oldham, while Nadim’s next opponent is undecided as yet.

The 25-year-old told the Keighley News last week that he has his eye on a Central Area or English title bout in the coming months.

Both of those are being fought for on the same night in Manchester on Saturday, November 16, with Adam Rasool taking on Faraqat Ali for the Central and Josh Holmes battling it out with Lewis Wood for the English.

Nadim may well be in attendance at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre that night, as he hopes to be taking on the winner of one of those bouts early next year.
