KEIGHLEY Cougars have announced contract extensions for two players who made a real impact during 2024.

Both Aaron Brown and Lachlan Lanskey joined the club last winter, and while the pair of them endured struggles with injury at times, they played a key part in Cougars’ second-place finish in Betfred League 1 and their subsequent run to the play-off final.

Disappointingly, Keighley will still be a third-tier side next season after losing that aforementioned final to Hunslet last Sunday, but the retention of Brown and Lanskey will go a long way towards making them promotion favourites for 2025.

Loose forward Brown, formerly at Widnes, is the club’s vice-captain, and he has signed a two-year extension, keeping him at Cougars until the end of 2026.

Australian Lanskey, who plays in the second row, has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal, so will remain with Keighley for their 2025 campaign.
