Long Lee came into this game on a high after beating Skipton LMS – contenders for the Craven League title –3-2 in a hard battle.

But this time Long Lee took their time to play the fluent football they have shown previously. They had their fair share of possession and chances but couldn’t find the net.

The hosts carried on the push for the opener in the second half with great chances for Andy Feather and Danny Watson, who made Gargrave’s keeper pull off a tremendous save from a 35-yard shot.

Feather finally opened the scoring, some silky moves in the box giving himself half a chance, which he gladly took.

Leroy Hickman soon had his chance to double the scoring after coming on as a sub as he raced through one-on-one with the keeper but, after rounding him, he managed to hit a defender on the line. Marc Webster missed two open nets, managing to blast the ball into the canal.

With only ten minutes to go, Gargrave pulled one back after a scramble in the box.

Long Lee are still seven points clear at the top and stretched their unbeaten league run to 13 matches. However, they face another title contender in Grassington away on Saturday.
