ANDY Rock might be facing his brother Tom at Monday's Remembrance Match at The Rec in Bath (7.30pm), but social media has not been abuzz between the Keighley siblings.
Tom, a flight lieutenant in the RAF, is captaining the UK Armed Forces against Bath United, who are under the guidance of Academy manager Andy.
"We have both been so busy that we haven't had five minutes to chat to each other," explained 32-year-old Tom, who, like Andy, started his rugby life with Keighley.
"But we hope to catch up with each other over the weekend."
Former Bingley Grammar School pupil Tom, who went on to play for England under-19s, Leeds Tykes, Otley, London Welsh and Blaydon, said: "I played in the match last year and we were well beaten – something like 35-10 – but we had just come back from the International Defence Rugby Competition as separate entities (Army, Navy and Air Force) and hadn't had much chance to practise as a squad.
"But this year we are having a couple of sessions at Gloucester this week before going to Bath, so we should be more together."
Tom added: "It is a big occasion, and there were about 7,000-8,000 there last year, which made for a great atmosphere.
"There is no admission charge, but spectators are asked to pay a donation of at least £5, with proceeds going to the Royal British Legion."
Tom, who is based at RAF Honington in Suffolk, added: "I have played a couple of matches for Bury St Edmunds in National League Two South."
Andy, 31, who also played for Keighley and Leeds Tykes before becoming their Academy director in 2014, was appointed as Academy manager at Aviva Premiership Bath this summer.
Tom said: "Andy moved there under director of rugby Todd Blackadder after Mike Ford left in May.
"It is a big job but Andy is enjoying himself and is starting to make his mark at the club."
